How You'll Make An Impact In This Role

Ascension Seton is looking for a Physician Assistant or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner for our Trauma Surgery Department. This is a great opportunity for the right candidate to provide medical services to patients at Ascension Seton Medical Center Williamson located in Round Rock, Tx.

  • Join an established team of physicians and APPs
  • Practice setting: inpatient
  • Patient population: 15 years and up
  • Employed position within a nonprofit health system
  • Deliver comprehensive direct care by conducting thorough patient histories, physical assessments, and preventative screenings to build an accurate picture of each patient's current health status
  • Formulate precise treatment plans by ordering, performing, and interpreting diagnostic procedures, ensuring timely intervention and continuity of care under physician supervision
  • Manage ongoing health conditions through direct therapeutic interventions and meticulous documentation, ensuring a seamless and high-quality patient care journey
  • Empower patients and families by providing clear counseling on preventative health, treatment pathways, and community resources to improve long-term wellness and self-care
  • Act as First Assistant in the operating room for surgical cases
  • Respond to Trauma and Acute Care Surgery (ACS) consults and emergency department activations
  • Perform bedside procedures, including tube thoracostomy, central venous cannulation, and arterial line placement
  • Conduct daily rounds in ICU and inpatient units, managing patient care plans, progress notes, and discharge documentation

Minimum Requirements

  • Licensure / Certification / Registration:
    • Nurse Practitioner credentialed from the Texas Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required
    • Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from the Texas Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required
    • BLS Provider preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted
    • Drug Enforcement Admin credentialed from the Drug Enforcement Administration preferred
  • Education: Master's degree of Nursing required

Additional Preferences

  • Acute Care Certification for all APRN applicants
  • 2+ years of Trauma experience as an APP
