About the Role
The Nurse Practitioner performs acts of medical diagnosis or prescription of medical therapeutic or corrective measures in collaboration with attending physicians and residents. As an advanced practice nurse, this role involves independent judgment and decision-making as well as consultation and collaboration with other members of the health care team. The NP enhances the continuity of quality patient care, amplifies communication between the physician, family members, and the health care team, and extends the capabilities of the medical care team. This position is critical in leading quality and evidence-based care initiatives that result in achieving optimal patient outcomes and improved patient satisfaction. This role requires providing service to all age populations in a manner that demonstrates an understanding of the functional/developmental age of the individuals served.
Responsibilities
- Perform medical diagnosis and prescribe medical therapeutic or corrective measures in collaboration with physicians.
- Exercise independent judgment and decision-making in patient care.
- Consult and collaborate with other healthcare team members.
- Enhance continuity and quality of patient care.
- Improve communication between physicians, family members, and the healthcare team.
- Lead quality and evidence-based care initiatives to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
Requirements
- Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) required.
- Acute Care Certified Nurse Practitioner required.
- Two years of Nurse Practitioner experience preferred.
- Minimum of two years nursing experience in a specific clinical area preferred.
Qualifications
- Licensed by the Pennsylvania State Board of Nurse Examiners as a Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner (CRNP).
- ATLS certification required.
- BLS certification required.
- ACLS certification required.
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification may be required.
- Successful completion of the AEMC credentialing process through the Medical Staff office, with temporary or permanent privileges approved.
