Responsibilities
- Collaborates with the manager/director to coordinate, integrate, and implement performance improvement activities.
- Assists in ensuring compliance with company policies and state/federal regulatory and accreditation standards.
- Performs chart reviews and data abstraction for CMS Core Measures and other quality outcomes studies.
- Trains staff on core measures and updates regarding new and enhanced indicators.
- Accurately identifies all trauma patients for entry into the hospital registry.
- Abstracts data from medical records of trauma patients, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Scores all injuries using the AIS and ICD-9 system, and collects and codes data on procedures and complications.
- Maintains a paperless data process and optimizes electronic resources for the trauma data process.
- Maintains a concurrent and comprehensive data validation process.
Qualifications
- Current BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current.
- AATM Course Certificate of Attendance within one year of hire.
- ATS Data Registrar Certificate of Attendance within one year of hire.
- Excellent computer skills, including proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Access).
- Experience reviewing charts for care issues.
- Detail-oriented organizational skills.
- Ability to handle multiple cases, directions, and follow-through.
- Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Experience with Medical Staff communication is a must.
- Excellent interpersonal relationship skills with exceptional professional work ethics.
- Proficient in word processing, spreadsheets, databases, and typing.
Pay
A reasonable compensation estimate for this role, which includes estimated wages, benefits, and other forms of compensation, is $25.91 to $28.54. The exact starting compensation to be offered will be determined at the time of selecting an applicant for hire, in which a wide range of factors will be considered, including but not limited to, skillset, years of applicable experience, education, credentials, and licensure.
