Trauma Coder Analyst

About the Role: Responsible for managing and abstracting detailed clinical information for patients treated for traumatic injuries. RESPONSIBILITIES: Data Abstraction: Reviewing complex electronic medical records to extract demographic, clinical, and pre-hospital data for injured patients. Injury Scoring: Assigning specialized coding, such as ICD-10-CM diagnosis and Abbreviated Injury Scale scores, to define the severity of injuries. Quality Improvement: Tracking outcomes, complications, and performance metrics to help trauma teams understand how to improve care. Regulatory Reporting: Ensuring data meets the standards of the National Trauma Data Standard, the American College of Surgeons. and Maryland Trauma Regulations.
