Responsibilities
- Meet all federal and state regulatory guidelines and standards applicable to this position.
- Use two-way communication radios, cell phones and other assigned equipment.
- Refrain from using a handheld cell phone while operating a vehicle.
- Cooperate with law enforcement authorities in the event of an official request for drug or alcohol testing.
- Provide consistent, effective communication with your supervisor about transportation concerns, vehicle issues, coordination difficulties and travel-plan changes.
- Participate in scheduled meetings, team decisions and operations.
- Work evenings, weekends and holidays as requested by your supervisor.
- Model culturally and socially desired behaviors and explain them to children to facilitate learning and replication.
- Implement Compass Connections safety protocols, including evacuating with children and staff in an emergency.
- Maintain confidentiality regarding the service population and program operations.
- Uphold Compass Connections professional and ethical standards of conduct, including respect for agency staff, children and community members, and comply with the required dress code at all times.
- Work irregular shifts and be available to transport the service population to destinations including emergency evacuations, medical/dental appointments, court hearings and off-campus outings.
- Maintain a calendar that tracks and coordinates children’s travel needs to ensure they reach appointments and new placements on schedule.
- Keep accurate, up-to-date vehicle logs.
- Provide safe, secure and supervised transportation of assigned children.
- Meet all deadlines required by the program supervisor and federal partners.
- In foster-care programs: support, encourage and recruit foster parents.
Requirements
- Pass a pre-employment drug screen and random drug screens throughout employment.
- Provide proof of work eligibility status upon request.
- Pass a pre-employment and biennial criminal background checks.
- Demonstrate the ability to:
- Respond sensitively and competently to the service population’s cultural and socio-economic characteristics.
- Organize and prioritize responsibilities and duties efficiently.
- Work in a fast-paced environment and maintain emotional control and professional composure at all times.
- Maintain computer literacy required to meet the responsibilities of the position.
- Work effectively both independently and as a member of a multidisciplinary team.
- Demonstrate a working knowledge of all Compass Connections policies and procedures.
Qualifications
- Required – High school diploma or equivalent.
- Fluency in English and Spanish is required.
- Certifications: First aid, CPR, Emergency behavior intervention.
- Required – Excellent driving record for the past five (5) years.
- Must receive an annual Influenza vaccination or obtain an approved medical or religious exemption (condition of employment).

Pay
$23.35 per hour.
Schedule
Must be able to work weekends; evenings, weekends and holidays as needed or requested.
