About the Role
To maintain a safe, efficient, and pleasant work environment. To assist the Medical Imaging Staff and Physicians in performing their duties and provide support for ancillary areas when requested. To assist patients while transporting them throughout the hospital. Work with technologists performing exams to help expedite care to the patient. Work at the front desk as needed in the main department, OP Mall, or Radiation Therapy.
Responsibilities
- Accurately enters patient orders (if needed).
- Demonstrates proper use of PATRA transport system.
- Answers the telephone in a pleasant and helpful manner and relays messages and phone calls appropriately.
- Assists in keeping turnaround time (TAT) down.
- Assists patients with completing patient information and history.
- Assists Technologists as needed.
- Properly assists patients in/out of wheelchairs.
- Handles and stores full/empty oxygen tanks in the proper place.
- Cleans transport equipment after each patient.
- Adheres to ethics and compliance standards, including HCA’s Code of Conduct and HIPAA guidelines.
- Notifies RN or department staff when a patient has arrived.
- Practices AIDET (Acknowledge, Introduce, Duration, Explanation, Thank You) daily.
- Practices hand hygiene in/out of rooms.
Requirements
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
- No prior experience required.
- No travel required.
