Position Summary
The Transportation Tech assists members of the health care team in the transporting and well-being of patients by performing specific tasks as directed by patient caregivers. The Transportation Tech is a patient advocate and works with all departments to ensure timely movement of patients throughout the JMC system and services.Essential Duties/Responsibilities
- Demonstrating high quality competency to assist staff with transporting of patients to and from various medical departments and service lines in a safe and compassionate manner.
- Aids in maintaining and adjusting schedules to meet the needs of the department.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

- Physical Requirements: This job can be physically demanding at times requiring stooping, sitting, standing, and walking for long periods of time. The team member will need to frequently assist lifting patients and heavy equipment. Must be able to work in a stressful environment, work independently, make sound decisions, detail oriented, alert, and self-motivated. Ability to push/pull up to 40 lbs., carry and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Threshold Requirements: Annual Joint Commission mandatory education requirements, in-service and health requirements including attendance at new employee orientation. TB/PPD Surveillance Program Maintenance of required professional licensing and/or certification(s).
