Duties And Responsibilities
- Lead & Inspire Your Team
- Coach, develop, and hold associates accountable through performance planning, feedback, and recognition.
- Develop Talent
- Aid with hiring, onboarding, training, and developing new and existing associates to build a high-performing team.
- Drive Operational Excellence
- Partner with Receiving, Shipping, Transportation, and Inventory Management to ensure accurate, efficient, and timely product flow in and out of the distribution center.
- Optimize Staffing & Productivity
- Maintain daily staffing levels, assign labor management tasks, and adjust resources to meet production demands.
- Ensure Safety, Accuracy & Compliance
- Enforce company policies, safety standards, and operational procedures.
- Communicate and administer corrective action when necessary.
- Lead Communication & Collaboration
- Hold departmental meetings, communicate shift updates, and coordinate with other departments to minimize operational disruptions.
- Champion Continuous Improvement
- Identify waste and inefficiencies, recommend process improvements, and act as a "change agent" for lean practices.
- Help foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
- Support Business Goals
- Provide accurate reports and insights to the Distribution Center Leadership Team.
- Project & Process Leadership
- Lead assigned projects and tasks, and recommend modifications to procedures or workflows that increase efficiency, productivity, and cost savings.
Qualifications
- Experience 1-3 years of experience in a distribution or warehouse environment
- Prior experience supervising or leading teams (preferred)
- High school diploma or equivalent (required)
- Certified on powered industrial equipment, where applicable
- Familiarity with distribution center operations
- Basic understanding of business and financial reports
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Proven leadership and conflict resolution skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Strong organizational and record-keeping skills
- Ability to align teams with departmental and business goals
- Flexibility to work required schedules and shifts
- Ability to work in temperatures ranging from -5°F to 90°F+
