Transportation Supervisor - 3rd Shift

About the role

As the Transportation Supervisor at GXO Logistics, you will coordinate and handle a variety of transportation activities, supervise day‑to‑day transportation operations, and strive to meet or exceed customer expectations. The role offers support to excel at work and resources to build a career.

Schedule

Rotating days, 6:00 pm – 6:00 am, 4 days on and 4 days off. The selected candidate will initially work days for a period of time before moving permanently to the night shift.

Responsibilities

• Act as a liaison for Transportation, Operations, carriers, vendors and customers.
• Lead and supervise transportation staff, including training and evaluating employee performance.
• Recommend or initiate hiring, promotions, transfers, or disciplinary actions.
• Perform routing, planning, updating, and tracking duties of orders and shipments.
• Analyze and resolve carrier performance and compliance issues.
• Track and trace shipments for customers to ensure on‑time, accurate, and satisfactory deliveries; provide updates as needed.
• Investigate and resolve issues submitted by customers, carriers, and/or clients; provide follow‑up and reporting as required.
• Maintain and generate required reports; properly process, audit, and file various documentation.

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of transportation or supply chain experience.
• Experience with Microsoft Office and Windows applications, with ability to create complex formulas in Excel.
• Bachelor’s degree (preferred).
• At least 1 year of supervisory experience (preferred).
• Strong leadership and collaboration skills; experience effectively supervising, coaching, and influencing employees.
• Physical ability to lift objects up to 25 lb, stand, sit, walk for extended periods, reach, bend, climb, push, pull, twist, squat, kneel, and tolerate hot or cold warehouse environments.
