Transportation Specialist, VMT - Full Time

About the role

The Transportation Specialist provides safe, high-quality, and customer-focused non-medical transportation and para-transit services to and from medical facilities, under the direction of Valley Medical Transport’s dispatch center and the team leader.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
• Valid driver's license required
• DOT Medical Examiner's certificate required
• EVOC (Emergency Vehicle Operators Certificate) or equivalent required within 6 months of hire
• Must satisfy requirements for and maintain a valid driver’s license
• Must satisfy requirements for a DOT equivalent physical examination to obtain and maintain a Medical Examiner’s Certificate
• Must submit to periodic drug screenings as defined by applicable federal, state, and Valley Health policies & regulations
• Advanced or Basic First Aid training preferred or company will provide
• BLS Certification (Basic Life Support) - American Heart Association ‘Healthcare Provider’ (HCP) - AHA approved required; new hires must have certification prior to completion of orientation
• Must be 18 years of age
• Experience in the use of handicap aids and wheelchair lift equipment, as well as the care and handling of aged and/or handicapped clients, is preferred
• Must maintain a driving record acceptable with the company’s insurance carrier
• Serves as the primary vehicle operator
