Transportation Specialist

Responsibilities

• Docking support for all accounts managed, to include manually docking pickups in TMS, supporting carrier training with how to dock in TMS, and key escalation contact for pick up issues with warehouse and 3pl carriers
• Weekend support for dispatch, customer service, and OS&D, to include load coverage as needed, track and track, and 3pl carrier issue escalation
• Follow up on late loads and provide the appropriate warehouse with the carrier’s new ETA.
• Cook up and manage daily freight movements, ensuring timely and cost-effective transportation of goods across multiple modes (truckload, LTL, intermodal).
• Maintain and update the after-hours carrier contact phone & e-mail list.

• Communicate with carriers, drivers, and internal stakeholders to resolve delays, disruptions, or exceptions in real-time.
• Analyze transportation data and KPIs to identify trends, improve service levels, and support continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required
• College Degree preferred
• Prefer 1-2 years of work experience in logistics/transportation operations
• Excellent Customer Service Skills
• Proficient in Excel SAP And TMS Experience Preferred
• Excellent problem solving, critical thinking, planning, and organizing skills
• Ability to communicate with internal and external team members
