Transportation Specialist
About the role
Amazon’s Network Engineering & Scheduling Technology (NEST) team is seeking an experienced Transportation Specialist to own and drive accurate load scheduling for a rapidly growing business segment. This role involves developing and improving transportation systems that deliver worldwide shipments to and from fulfillment centers and third-party locations.
Responsibilities
- Pull data from databases (using Excel, Access, SQL, or other data management systems) and perform ad hoc reporting and analysis as needed.
- Develop and understand performance metrics to assist with driving business results.
- Analyze trends to assess business impact and make data-driven decisions.
- Systematically escalate problems or data variances to relevant teams and ensure resolution.
- Work within time constraints to meet critical business needs while measuring and identifying activities performed.
- Communicate findings verbally and in writing, including creating narratives for weekly reviews and presenting variances to goals.
Requirements
- 1+ years of experience working with computers and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Fluency in English (speaking, writing, and reading).
- Ability to lift up to 49 pounds, stand/walk for shifts up to 12 hours, and frequently push, pull, squat, bend, and reach.
- Willingness to work 40 hours/week with overtime as required.
- Flexibility to work varied schedules/shifts, including weekends, nights, and holidays.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience within a customer service or contact center environment.
Pay
Base pay for this position ranges from $40,600/year in the lowest geographic market to $66,800/year in the highest geographic market. Pay is based on market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Additional compensation may include equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of benefits.
