Position Summary
The Transportation Scheduler supports the School of Origin Transportation Program. Key responsibilities include scheduling and dispatching drivers, managing urgent and non-urgent calls, and maintaining strong relationships with provider partners.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Receive last-minute schedule changes and make necessary routing changes in the Route Genie tracking software
- Work with the Transportation Manager to address service issues
- Maintain logs of calls and transportation cancellations/no-shows, entering data into spreadsheets and databases as needed
- Process routing and dispatching activities, assigning drivers to routes, and contacting drivers for time-sensitive schedule changes
- Answer questions and concerns about transportation issues
- Master and use the scheduling software system (Route Genie)
- Data entry of new student paperwork for transport
- Log reports on all activities during the shift
- Work a flexible schedule from 7:00 am - 3:30 pm, with potential for other hours
- Attend annual Conflict of Interest training
- Handle same-day and ongoing change requests, as well as student build-outs
- Manage student schedules using school calendars and student referrals
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required
- 2+ years of experience in customer service, data entry, and tracking software systems
- Exceptional communication skills and customer service attitude
- Strong data entry and computer skills, including MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Knowledge of grammar and punctuation
- Learning and mastering the transportation scheduling software system
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment, meeting critical deadlines with confidence and a positive attitude
- Accuracy and attention to detail
- Exceptional time management and organizational skills
- Demonstrated ability to work with minimal supervision
