Transportation/Roadway Civil Designer - Entry Level (Omaha, NE)
Description
We are seeking a Full-Time Civil Design Engineer in our Omaha office. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with the ability to communicate effectively with team members. Additionally, this candidate will:
- Work closely with internal staff to meet client needs
- Prepare civil engineering designs, drawings & specifications
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or related degree from an EAC/ABET, CEAB-accredited engineering program, or program that is meeting the NCEES Engineering Education Standard received on or before May 2026
- Engineer-in-Training (E.I.T.) certification or ability to obtain within six months
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office and introductory experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or MicroStation
- Able to effectively work independently or with a team
Preferred Qualifications
- Internship experience or up to two (2) years of engineering experience preferred
- Experience with roadway design, hydrologic and hydraulic computations, computer modeling, and presentation of results
- Demonstrated knowledge of Public Improvement Plan layouts, design, and processes and procedures
- Experience with the City of Omaha, Sarpy, and Douglas County, and/or other local agencies
- Knowledge of the Omaha Regional Design Manual
