Transportation Project Manager - NDOT

Typical Duties

• Serves as the leading force in driving delivery and innovation, encouraging project teams to develop and implement innovative processes and design elements that will improve the efficiency of NDOT’s systems and programs.
• Implements the project vision as aligned with the CHYM Program Management team in the Mayor’s Office.
• Develops, monitors, and maintains project schedules and budgets to ensure the development process and deliverables meet or exceed standards.
• Maintains complete and accurate project documentation to provide efficiency in resolving questions as projects progress.
• Leads internal and external project team members proactively to achieve project milestones using project management tools and software that determine project priorities and critical paths.
• Leads multidisciplinary teams proactively to ensure project delivery expectations are met.
• Ensures project data is both current and accurate, allowing for well-informed decision making by NDOT staff.
• Ensures performance metrics are met.
• Addresses all public right of way issues including ADA compliance, parking regulations and adherence to Metro design construction guidelines on projects.

Minimum Qualifications

• A High School Diploma or equivalent and twelve (12) years of experience in construction engineering or construction inspections and (5) years of increasingly responsible supervisory/lead experience and/or project management experience.
• OR an Associate’s Degree in a related field with eight (8) years of experience in construction engineering or construction inspections and three (3) years of increasingly responsible supervisory/lead experience and/or project management experience.

Preferred Experience, Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

• PMP Certification
• Experience with project estimating and budgeting
• Knowledge of critical path method for scheduling and managing projects
• Knowledge of the Metro Charter and Metro Code

Pay

Full-time, Civil Service positions - 10 Vacation Days per year (increasing after 5 years of service) 1 Sick Day per month 12 Paid Holidays per year
