About the role

Bloom is seeking a Transportation Project Manager with experience in Highway Roadway principles. The ideal candidate will lead design and plan production teams to successfully deliver roadway, structural, infrastructure, and transportation projects.

Responsibilities

  • Lead design and plan production teams to successfully deliver transportation infrastructure projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.
  • Oversee the planning, design, and execution of transportation infrastructure projects, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Manage and execute projects, develop client relationships, prepare and negotiate contracts, coordinate with regulatory agencies, and establish critical project objectives and performances.
  • Manage multiple transportation projects simultaneously, leading a team of engineers and drafters, providing guidance, and fostering collaboration.
  • Ensure the quality of project deliverables, including designs and specifications, and interact and communicate effectively with team members, clients, and other agencies.
  • Participate in public involvement activities, identify, assess, and mitigate project risks, coordinate with subconsultants, direct and train staff on project engineering, and assist with proposal and contract preparation.
  • Manage project financials and participate in quality control/quality assurance processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering
  • PE license required (Illinois)
  • 10 to 15 years of progressive experience in transportation design
  • Familiarity with Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) and Illinois Tollway design engineering practices, standards, and documentation
  • Experience with Microstation V81 SS10, OpenRoads Designer Connect Edition (CE), ProjectWise, AutoTURN, Microsoft Office, and Bluebeam
  • Strong leadership skills, good decision-making skills, flexibility, focus on quality, and attention to detail
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
