Transportation Project Manager
About the Role
At Apex, we design and deliver transportation projects that improve how communities move and connect. Our team works on roadway, drainage, multimodal, bridge-related, and utility infrastructure projects for FDOT, counties, municipalities, and other public agencies throughout Florida. We're looking for a Transportation Project Manager who enjoys leading complex projects, building client relationships, mentoring staff, and solving real-world engineering challenges. This role provides the opportunity to manage projects from pursuit through design, permitting, bidding, and construction while working with a highly collaborative team of engineers, designers, and technical specialists.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients and lead multidisciplinary project teams responsible for delivering transportation infrastructure projects.
- Work closely with FDOT and local agencies, coordinate with utilities and permitting authorities, oversee project budgets and schedules, and guide technical staff through successful project delivery.
- Manage project scope, schedule, budget, and client communication.
- Lead project delivery teams through design, permitting, bidding, and construction support.
- Oversee quality control efforts and technical reviews.
- Support business development, proposals, interviews, and client relationship management.
Requirements
- Florida Professional Engineer (PE) license.
- 8+ years of transportation engineering experience.
- Experience managing projects for FDOT, counties, municipalities, or other public-sector clients.
- Strong understanding of FDOT standards, project delivery processes, and transportation design.
- Ability to lead teams, develop staff, and build long-term client relationships.

Pay
This role is eligible for a $10,000 sign-on bonus, subject to the terms and conditions of the Company's sign-on bonus program. All Apex positions are eligible for annual bonus opportunities.
