Transportation Project Engineer

About the role

NV5 is seeking a Transportation Project Engineer for our Alpharetta, GA office. The position will provide engineering design, calculations, CAD support, and project assistance for the Transportation Design group. The ideal candidate will provide design support and be able to complete assigned projects on time and within budget.

Responsibilities

• Complete roadway design plans with limited supervision.
• Work alone and in small groups.
• Use MicroStation and Inroads/OpenRoads software.
• Assist engineers and designers in the development and production of engineering plans and specifications on a variety of transportation projects.
• Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills along with familiarity with Microsoft Products such as Excel and Outlook.

Requirements

• BS in Civil Engineering
• 5+ years of previous roadway design or other transportation engineering experience
• GA PE license required (or ability to obtain within 6 months)
• Knowledge of MicroStation and Inroads/OpenRoads software a plus
• GDOT and/or Municipal experience preferred
• Must be willing to travel on occasion
• Must possess or be able to obtain a valid driver’s license prior to employment is preferred
