Transportation Project Engineer
Responsibilities
The position requires 5+ years of leadership experience in the planning and design of state and local transportation infrastructure, including but not limited to roadway design, intersections, interchanges, utilities, drainage, stormwater management, and coordination with other disciplines as necessary.
The successful candidate must be flexible, technologically savvy, and client focused. The work required by the successful candidate is diverse and requires familiarity with state and local design standards, Civil 3D and/or AutoCAD, MicroStation/InRoads, and Microsoft Office Suite as well as experience with client and project management processes.
The successful candidate must be able to work in a timely fashion to meet project budgets, communicate effectively with clients, coworkers, sub consultants, and review staff, compose technical reports, memorandums, and other written communication, and handle multiple concurrent projects.
The work required by the successful candidate is diverse and requires strong capabilities in Civil 3D and Microsoft Office Suite, ProjectWise, PMWeb, and eConstruction Tools. Knowledge of CDOT Design Manuals and Specifications; Ability to work across CDOT Regions is also required. Demonstrated CDOT experience is preferred.
Requirements
- BS degree in Civil Engineering
- Colorado Professional Engineer (PE) License or ability to obtain within one year of date of hire
- 5+ years of experience in transportation engineering
- Experience with Civil 3D and/or MicroStation InRoads
- Ability to work in a timely fashion to meet project budgets
- Ability to communicate effectively with clients, coworkers, sub consultants, and review staff
- Ability to compose technical reports, memorandums, and other written communication
- Ability to handle multiple concurrent projects

Pay
The projected range for this position is $105,000-$140,000 annually. Depending upon other factors, i.e., skills, experience, location, market conditions, the range may vary slightly.
