Transportation Permit Specialist

Responsibilities

• Review oversize and overweight permits for accuracy and completeness.
• Review oversize and overweight permits for routes and restrictions to ensure safe travel throughout the state.
• Review oversize and overweight permits to ensure compliance with current rules and laws.
• Provide customer support to commercial carriers requiring permit status and updates.

Qualifications

• Education: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree; OR graduation from an accredited college with an associate degree plus two years of increasingly responsible experience; OR education equivalent to graduation from a standard high school plus four years of increasingly responsible experience.
• Experience: Motor carrier permit registration experience preferred; Customer Service experience required; Analytical experience related to determining compliance with state and federal rules, regulations, or related standards preferred; Experience with Transportation or Logistics Operations to include freight movement and tracking (heavy haul and permit purchasing) helpful; Data and systems experience preferred; Experience with permit management and permit routing software preferred; GIS tools experience preferred.
