Transportation Manager

Responsibilities

• Affords responsibility for assisting in the development and implementation of effective Transportation planning, budgeting, policies, and procedures.
• Executes established goals and ensures that Transportation policies support and complement Company strategies, mission, vision, and values.
• Maintains regular communication with customers to obtain information, receive complaints, and analyze their needs and expectations.
• Ensures that excellent, professional communications are maintained with customers.
• Plans equipment and determines rental requirements and maintenance needs.
• Implements and maintains operation of computerized on-board and navigation systems.
• Assumes responsibility for ensuring that Transportation operations meet or exceed safety and regulatory standards.
• Maintains safety records for all drivers.
• Ensures that personnel understand and implement safety and regulatory policies and procedures.
• Schedules, supervises, and directs Transportation personnel, ensuring excellent customer service and optimal performance.
• Uses good judgment for decision-making, especially when direct supervision may not be immediately available.
• Promotes teamwork. Encourages employee involvement, suggestions, and problem solving.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree preferred and/or equivalent experience in related field.
• Knowledge of transportation equipment and vehicle operations.
• Minimum of three to five years of experience in multiple stop dispatch operation.
• Minimum of three to five years supervisory and management experience.
• Experience with Microsoft Office Applications: Word, Excel and Power Point.
