Transportation Manager

Position Summary This role oversees Delivery operations, including managing expenses, revenue, compliance with regulations, and safety of delivery staff. It involves supervising delivery supervisors and routing personnel, ensuring adherence to standard operating procedures, safety standards, and regulatory requirements such as DOT and OSHA. Responsibilities include managing labor hours, supplies, and assets to optimize efficiency and cost-effectiveness, monitoring routing activities to meet KPIs and customer satisfaction, and implementing process improvements. Communication with sales and marketing teams to resolve delivery issues, maintaining software systems, and fostering positive associate relations are key duties. The role also entails enforcing company policies, coordinating safety training, conducting safety inspections, and managing staff recruitment, development, and performance reviews. Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, with preferred college degrees in Business or Supply Chain Management. Certifications like a valid Class A CDL, defensive driving, and HazMat are advantageous. Skills required encompass strong communication, problem-solving, computer literacy, knowledge of safety regulations, and leadership abilities. The position demands physical endurance and adaptability to various environmental conditions, including occasional travel and non-traditional hours.
