Responsibilities
- Oversees a freight terminal responsible for arranging transportation for all issue transactions.
- Fully knowledgeable in all Government and Commercial Traffic Management functions and processes.
- Directs employees engaged in planning outbound shipping loads, scheduling movement of outbound shipments to include air, surface, small parcel, and sea IAW all applicable contracts, DFTS (if applicable), SDDC Global Freight Management System (GFMS) applications, and completing required documentation and data entry functions to include Bills of Lading (BOLs), manifests and all other forms of transportation documentation.
- Plans the use of subordinate workers, equipment, facilities, and materials based on projected workload on a weekly or monthly basis.
- Establishes deadlines, priorities, and work sequences IAW general work schedules, methods, and policies established by the Site Manager and/or Alternate Site Manager.
- Redirects workers and resources to accomplish unanticipated work and to accommodate daily workload fluctuations.
- Crafts planning of current and future work schedules, providing workload data, estimates, information on staffing needs, and recommendations as to the scheduling of projected work.
- Ensures work is done properly and efficiently IAW the terms and condition of the contract.
- Uses WMS and other Government Data Systems to perform the requirements in the in the PWS.
Qualifications
- Must have a minimum three (3) years of experience in transportation using DLAs WMS or an equivalent automated WMS within the past five (5) years.
- Must be a US Citizen.
- Must be able to obtain a Secret Security Clearance.
