Transportation Manager

Daikin Comfort Technologies Manufacturing, L.P. is seeking a skilled Transportation Manager for our Logistics organization at the Daikin Texas Technology Park in Waller, Texas. This is an onsite position.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a contact point for all workers within a particular area
• Investigate, verify, and resolve customer or shipper complaints
• Implement schedule and policy changes
• Collaborate with other managers and staff to formulate and implement policies, processes, and objectives
• Monitor operations to ensure compliance with company rules, safety procedures, and government regulations
• Oversee spending to ensure expenses align with approved budgets
• Direct and coordinate activities of the operations department to optimize equipment, facilities, and human resources
• Supervise staff responsible for repairs and maintenance of equipment, vehicles, and facilities
• Prepare weekly and monthly reports required by the controller
• Perform additional projects or duties to support ongoing business needs

Nature & Scope

• Ensures work aligns with the Director’s expectations, goals, and vision
• Accountable for implementing policies, processes, and procedures for short-term results
• Handles difficult to moderately complex issues and projects with guidance from Senior Manager/Director
• Provides guidance and training to subordinates
• Authority to hire, recommend pay, establish performance, and recommend termination
• Level of signing authority established by company policy/guidelines

Requirements

• 5 years of logistics experience
• PKMS-MINCRON or MAPICS experience preferred
• High school diploma required
• Bachelor’s degree in Logistics or Supply Chain preferred
• People management experience required

Skills

• Computer system knowledge and basic transportation skills
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Familiarity with MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
• Geography knowledge
• Transportation skills
• Ability to apply good judgment, strong work ethics, and integrity
