Transportation Manager Assistant

About the role

We are a broadline distributor with a cash n carry operation delivering quality food, service and custom solutions to foodservice operators and restaurants throughout the New York, New Jersey and Connecticut markets. We are seeking a reliable and organized Transportation Manager Assistant to support the Transportation Manager with the daily transportation operations.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with the Transportation Manager daily
• Monitor delivery progress and communicate delays or changes as needed
• Assist with daily route scheduling
• Report promptly any shortages, damages or discrepancies
• Coordinate with customer service, warehouse, sales and any other departments regarding deliveries

Qualifications

• High School Diploma
• Experience in transportation, dispatch, logistics or warehousing
• Ability to work independently as well as with a team
• Good communication and problem-solving skills
• Foodservice distribution or delivery experience is a plus
• Basic computer skills and ability to learn warehouse system

Physical Requirements

• Ability to work in a fast-paced transportation environment
• Occasional movement throughout warehouse and transportation areas
• Ability to work in varying warehouse temperatures and conditions
