About the Role

Join an international automotive company as a Transportation Management Specialist on a contract basis. This onsite role focuses on managing logistics service provider contract compliance and enhancing supply chain operations.

Requirements

  • BA/BS degree in Economics, Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or related field, or 4+ years of equivalent experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • 5+ years of professional experience managing logistics service provider/supplier contract compliance and/or supply chain management.
  • 3+ years of project management experience.

Skills

  • Advanced Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint) as demonstrated through business application.
  • 5+ years of expert-level problem-solving skills.
  • 3+ years of advanced-level experience conducting predictive analytics or statistical risk analysis.
  • Transportation scheduling expertise.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, proven through business application.

Responsibilities

  • Support the transportation service provider to ensure they meet all key performance indicators (KPIs) and serve as a point of contact to resolve issues related to target achievement.
  • Lead and steer projects related to the provider, including creating and utilizing escalation processes to ensure accountability.
  • Perform and document monthly and quarterly evaluations of transportation service provider performance to ensure established targets are met.
  • Report transportation service provider non-conformances in a structured manner and define escalation processes for repetitive issues with countermeasures.
  • Utilize defined escalation paths to ensure support, action, and accountability, steering as needed.
  • Provide recommendations to improve operational efficiencies, including team collaboration, visual management, and best practices.
  • Collaborate actively with transportation service providers and other process partners impacted by their processes.
  • Ensure process standardization across all shifts through revisions and communications with the team and service providers.
  • Establish individual performance targets for transportation service providers and conduct documented quarterly performance reviews.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
