  • Help prepare engineering drawings, plans, exhibits, calculations, and project documentation.
  • Assist with collecting, organizing, and reviewing field and design data.
  • Participate in site visits and field assignments to better understand how engineering plans become completed projects.
  • Collaborate with engineers, designers, surveyors, inspectors, and project managers.
  • Learn and apply Civil Science's technical standards, quality-control procedures, and safety practices.
  • Take on meaningful responsibilities based on your experience, interests, and project needs.

Requirements

  • An interest in transportation, roadway design, construction, surveying, or public infrastructure.
  • A working knowledge of civil engineering concepts related to roadway design, land surveying, construction inspection, and CADD.
  • A willingness to learn, ask questions, take initiative, and take ownership of your work.
  • Strong communication skills and a dependable, team-oriented approach.
  • A valid driver's license and the ability to meet Civil Science's driving requirements.

Preferred qualifications

  • Recent academic, internship, or project experience involving highway or Department of Transportation projects.
  • Experience with design software such as Bentley MicroStation, OpenRoads, AutoCAD Civil 3D, or similar programs.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office, Bluebeam, or field data-collection tools.
  • Construction inspection, materials testing, or similar field experience.

Experience with these programs is helpful but not required. We are looking for someone who is ready to learn and grow.
