About the role
RETTEW is seeking a Transportation Engineer II to join our growing Transportation Team. In this role, you will contribute to meaningful roadway and infrastructure projects that improve how people and goods move through our communities. This is a great opportunity to build on your early career experience while working alongside experienced engineers and project managers.
Responsibilities
- Apply your engineering knowledge to support the design and delivery of transportation projects.
- Perform design calculations, assist in developing plans and specifications, and collaborate with project teams to deliver high-quality solutions.
- Ensure compliance with PennDOT, AASHTO, and local design standards.
- Assist with permitting efforts, regulatory research, and support for bidding and construction phases.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams—including engineers, designers, and project managers—to meet project goals, schedules, and budgets.
- Provide technical input for client presentations and proposal development.
- Communicate effectively with internal teams and support coordination with clients and stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience, including internships.
- Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification.
- Strong understanding of engineering fundamentals and design principles.
- Proficiency with engineering software and standard office tools.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
Preferred Experience
- Experience with traffic engineering studies and analyses.
- Familiarity with PennDOT standards and processes.
- Experience with CAD software such as MicroStation or OpenRoads.
- PE license in Pennsylvania (or ability to obtain within 1–2 years).
