About the role

This position involves project assignments including on-site representation of the client, preparation of project documentation, cost estimating, scheduling, plan review, research of records, quality control/quality assurance inspection and materials testing and oversight.

Responsibilities

  • Project assignments including on-site representation of client, preparation of project documentation, cost estimating, scheduling, plan review, research of records, quality control/quality assurance inspection and materials testing and oversight.
  • May perform a review of project records, schedules, and as-built construction to evaluate change orders and requests for extension of time.
  • Independently apply techniques and analyze for problems and methods. Ensure the quality and timeliness of deliverables.
  • Receive training, participate in company activities, and administrative duties.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Some experience in transportation construction preferred. Experience may be in the following sectors: federal, state, municipal, ports or marina projects.
  • Must possess OSHA 10-hour or OSHA 30-hour certification or obtain within 3 months of hire.
  • Must also maintain a valid driver's license with a good driving record and pass a fingerprint-based criminal background check, DMV driving record check, reference verification, and work history check.
  • Applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.

Education/Knowledge

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Architecture, or related field.
  • FE/EIT preferred.
  • Knowledge of engineering principles of construction management and project controls.
  • Knowledge of one of the following services: critical path method scheduling, cost estimating, project budgeting, delay analysis, constructibility and design review, inspections, quantity take-offs.

Skills and Abilities

  • Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, CADD, graphics, writing capabilities, and ability to work independently.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain industry certifications specific to duties assigned.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering plans, specifications, and technical reports.
  • Ability to maintain records and prepare reports and correspondence related to the work.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with others.
  • Ability to maintain favorable public relations.
  • Able to stand and sit as needed on project work sites, climb ladders, work at heights, and work outdoors in a wide range of weather conditions.
  • Ability to safely navigate construction work sites with uneven terrain.

Guidance/Responsibility

This position is closely supervised.

Supervisory

Ability to supervise assistants in technical/administrative roles.

Status

The base salary range for this position is $70,000.00 to $74,000.00. Actual compensation will be determined based on work location, qualifications, experience, job-related skills, and relevant education or training.
