Transportation Dispatcher - Days

About the role

Join Our Community of Food People! Work Schedule: Monday-Friday 1:30pm-10:00pm Starting Pay: $25.00/hr

Responsibilities

  • Verify that the customer's needs are met in a prompt and professional manner.
  • Notify the manager/supervisor in charge and the safety specialist of vehicle accidents or driver injuries.
  • Coordinate driver activities to minimize hours of service violations.
  • Verify that drivers are using Omnitracs properly.
  • Assign backhauls as needed to be done in the most efficient manner possible.
  • Cookier trailer and tractor assignments.
  • Communicate to the sales force and operations management about service issues.
  • Reassign routes as needed.
  • Visually inspect each driver's appearance to ensure they are in proper uniform and have required PPE.
  • Cookier shuttle assignments to minimize downtime and overtime.
  • Complete Attendance Reports.
  • Distribute intercompany mail to sales force.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED required.
  • Must have working knowledge of DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations and driver's logs.
  • Must be organized and detailed; and have legible handwriting.
  • Must be able to manage several things at once.
  • Must have (2) years transportation experience.
  • CDL A preferred.

  • Must have (2) years transportation experience.

  • Ability to coordinate shuttle assignments.

Pay

Compensation depends on relevant experience and/or education, specific skills, function, geographic location, and other factors as applicable by law. The expected base rate for this role is $25 per hour.
