Transportation Director

About the role

The Transportation Director under the supervision of the Executive Director is responsible for the transportation program, including transport of residents/participants, meals, durable medical equipment, pharmacy, and any other transportation as deemed necessary. Responsible for hiring, training and supervision of all drivers and dispatchers. Oversees vehicle repairs and maintenance. Responsible for meeting departmental budget goals.

Responsibilities

  • Supervises the transportation departmental staff.
  • Functions as a member of the Interdisciplinary Team (IDT).
  • Maintains regular attendance at, and participates in Interdisciplinary Team meetings.
  • Communicates participant changes, collaborates on plan of care decisions and coordination for twenty-four (24) hour care delivery.
  • Communicates Interdisciplinary Team decisions, participant changes, plan of care changes, and updated information to transportation staff on a daily basis.
  • Schedules, coordinates, and communicates driver route assignments for the Senior Community Care Program.
  • Schedules transportation for all participants outside of appointments.

Requirements

  • Two (2) years of administrative/supervisory experience, in a transportation setting.
  • Five (5) years of experience in the transportation industry.
  • One (1) year experience in working with the frail or elderly population.
  • High school diploma required.
  • Valid Driver’s License in state of hire.
  • Means of transportation.
  • Medical clearance for communicable diseases and up-to-date immunizations before having direct participant contact.

  • Administrative/supervisory experience in a transportation setting.
  • Experience in the transportation industry.
  • Experience working with the frail or elderly population.
  • Knowledge of scheduling software.

Pay

$73,923.20 - $79,227.20 Annually

Schedule

Monday-Friday 8:00 AM-5:00 PM
