Transportation Design Project Manager
Description
Manage multiple transportation design projects from concept through completion.
Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, team members, and partners.
Communicate clearly and consistently across departments and with external stakeholders.
Delegate tasks effectively and support team members with guidance and mentorship.
Provide technical leadership and quality control throughout the design process.
Lead project reviews and ensure compliance with standards, specifications, and expectations.
Participate in the development of RFPs, RFQs, and project proposals.
Resolve project related challenges with professionalism and sound judgment.
Apply practical engineering knowledge to produce safe, efficient, cost-effective designs.
Continue learning key elements of civil engineering design relevant to our projects.
Required
- 8+ years of design project management experience
- Strong background in design project engineering
- Proficiency with CAD/BIM software
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
- Active Professional Engineer (PE) License
PREFERRED
- 3+ years of progressive roadway design experience
- Experience with Wisconsin DOT and municipal roadway projects
- Familiarity with project contracts, specifications, and PS&E
- Experience scoping projects
- Ability to apply field experience to design decisions
