About the role

Freese and Nichols is seeking a Transportation Construction Representative to join our Central Plains Construction team in Oklahoma City. The Construction Representative will observe construction on a variety of transportation, water, and/or facilities infrastructure projects to verify compliance with approved plans and specifications and provide guidance to other construction representatives. The work site location will be in Durant, OK.

Responsibilities

  • Observe and inspect ongoing construction work to ensure construction is in accordance with plans and specifications.
  • Oversee construction record-keeping activities by recommending payments to contractors, reviewing proposed change orders submitted by consultants, and preparing daily reports.
  • Prepare for and assist with preconstruction meetings, progress checks, and conflict resolution.
  • Provide information to the project manager/construction manager regarding the need for change orders, extra work, and/or supplemental agreements.
  • Communicate with clients, contractors, and other employees.
  • Read plans and specifications to ensure construction aligns with approved documents.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 10+ years of relevant experience in the construction field serving as a construction representative or inspector.
  • Fully proficient using a project management information system (e.g., e-Builder, Buzzsaw, FNI Manager, Site Manager, etc.).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, etc.).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree in a related field.
  • CCM certification.
  • DOT technical certifications.
  • ACI or APWA certification.
  • Level I NICET certification.
  • Other applicable certifications.
