The position involves inspecting highways and bridges, documenting compliance with plans and specifications, and overseeing contractor activities.

Inspect highways and bridges
Document compliance with plans and specifications
Inspect and document field activities performed by contractors daily
Communicate with the inspection team, contractor, and client daily
Generate Project Site Activity (PSA) reports
Use electronic tablets and computers for reviewing construction drawings/specifications and completing project documentation
Process payments, issue work authorizations and work orders, and monitor project schedules

Previous experience as a TA on PennDOT projects
Two years of transportation highway construction inspection experience
Four years' experience in highway construction
Two of the following certifications: NICET (Highway Construction), NECEPT Asphalt, or NECEPT/PennDOT Concrete
A B.S. Degree in Civil Engineering or similar can substitute for experience
A Professional Engineers License (PE) can substitute for experience
PennDOT ECMS v3 and PPCC experience preferred
Basic computer skills to use an electronic tablet and computer for project documentation
Navigate construction sites in various terrains and weather conditions
Work hours may include day and/or night shifts, weekends, based on project needs
Effective communication skills, both verbal and written
Own vehicle with valid driver's license
