Transportation Construction Inspector (PennDOT 5-0 District)

Johnson, Mirmiran & Thompson is a consulting firm with over 2,800 professionals offering engineering, architecture, IT, and related services. Our Construction Management Team in Allentown is seeking Transportation Construction Inspection professionals for projects in PennDOT's District 5-0 region.

Responsibilities

• Review and interpret plans, site layouts, specifications, and construction methods to ensure compliance with legal requirements and safety regulations
• Perform routine tests on concrete, soils, and other materials
• Measure dimensions and verify level, alignment, and elevation of structures, fixtures, grades, and/or pavement to ensure compliance with plans and codes
• Gather and maintain record documents
• Make field notes and computations

Requirements

• Active driver’s license and reliable motor vehicle
• Pass JMT's Motor Vehicle screening
• Pass relevant certifications such as NICET Level II or higher in Transportation/Highway Construction, NECEPT-Bituminous and Concrete Field Technician, ACI Concrete Field-Testing Technician
• High School or GED equivalent, higher education may be substituted for experience
• CDS V-3 and/or ECMS Wave 5 Experience
• Highway or bridge construction inspection experience preferred

Qualifications

• Computer proficiency required
• Associate or Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or construction management, additional technical degrees are eligible for consideration
