We are seeking Transportation Construction Inspection professionals to join our Central PA Team, serving the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation, the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission, and other local government agencies throughout the Central PA Region.

Responsibilities

  • Review and interpret plans, site layouts, specifications, and construction methods to ensure compliance with legal requirements and safety regulations.
  • Perform routine tests on concrete, soils, and other materials.
  • Measure dimensions and verify level, alignment, and elevation of structures, fixtures, grades, and/or pavement to ensure compliance with plans and codes.
  • Gather and maintain record documents.
  • Make field notes and computations.

Required Skills

  • Computer proficiency
  • Active driver’s license
  • Must successfully complete and pass JMT’s Motor Vehicle screening

Preferred Skills

  • Client-requested certifications, including:
    • NICET Level 1 or higher in Transportation/Highway Construction
    • NECEPT-Bituminous and Concrete Field Technician
    • ACI Concrete Field-Testing Technician
    • CDS NeXtGen and/or ECMS Wave 5

Required Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent (may be substituted for experience)
  • 1–4 years of Construction Inspection Experience

Preferred Experience

  • Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management
  • Previous PennDOT and/or PA Turnpike Inspection Experience

Working Conditions

  • Work is performed in the field.
  • Ability to extensively perform bending, kneeling, standing, shoveling, and lifting and carrying objects weighing up to 25 lbs as needed.
  • Work may be conducted outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions.
