Transportation Clerk -2nd Shift

Responsible for daily and weekly maintenance of pallet tracking, audit of driver logs and trip reports, and tracking DOT requirements for logs and driver files. Acts as liaison for internal customer support and tracks all return goods as directed by the customer for close-out of returns from the private fleet.

Responsibilities

  • Various office and administrative duties, including handling accounts payable/receivable and collections, payroll, fuel reconciliation, office supplies, billing, maintaining database, and miscellaneous reporting
  • Audit of logs and trip reports and other DOT reporting, maintenance of files, customer service interaction, resolution of driver equipment requests, and pallet tracking
  • Maintenance and distribution of route books, daily interface with drivers, assist with driver coverage of vacation and overflow freight
  • Involve Safety team as required by location
  • Prioritize workload and adjust based on position requirements
  • Maintain confidentiality
  • Other projects and tasks assigned by supervisor

Requirements

  • 2 years of general office experience
  • 1 year of customer service experience
  • 6 months minimum related experience in transportation clerk role
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Advanced computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
  • AS400 experience preferred
  • Regular, predictable, full attendance
  • Willingness to travel as necessary, work the required schedule, and work at the specified location
  • Complete Penske employment application, submit to a background investigation (including past employment, education, and criminal history), and drug screening

Pay

$23.50 per hour plus $1.00 shift differential.

Schedule

Full Time, Third shift, Monday - Friday, 6:30 pm - 3:00 am.
