Transportation Civil Engineering Intern - Summer 2027

As a Transportation Civil Engineering Intern you will learn practical on-the-job experience serving our municipalities and will spend the majority of your time working with construction phase activities for transportation projects.

Responsibilities

• Assist on civil engineering projects with tasks involving civil engineering, planning and design
• Assist with the preparation of reports, plans, specifications, and cost estimates
• Assist with construction observation, performing construction staking, and performing construction administration duties
• Some internship opportunities may also include working on various reports, completing design calculations, writing specifications, and reviewing shop drawings

Requirements

• Enrolled in a Civil Engineering degree program or closely related program from an accredited post-secondary institution
• Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.8; desired GPA 3.2 or above
• Sophomore standing or above with completed coursework in general surveying and AutoCAD drafting
• Ability to work in extended outdoor conditions and physically capable of navigating rugged terrain for construction observation duties
• Valid driver’s license and own transportation or ability to use public transportation; business-related travel reimbursed
• Currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis, part-time basis, or internship without restriction
• Not eligible for visa sponsorship or immigration support through Bolton & Menk
