About the role
A Transportation Brokerage Sales Manager oversees the sales operations of a GEODIS Capacity Solutions (freight brokerage) inside sales team, focusing on connecting shippers with carriers to move freight efficiently. They are responsible for developing and managing client relationships, leading sales teams, setting targets, and driving revenue growth.
Responsibilities

- Provide daily management and mentoring of the brokerage operations department
- Interview and hire team members
- Develop tactical and strategic plans to build talent pipeline through team member development and to meet growth objectives
- Drive consistent performance with a focus on on-boarding new customers and retaining existing customers
- Ensure the team is optimally staffed and organized to maximize performance and achieve results
- Manage account relationships as the primary point-of-contact for day-to-day needs, including communication between sales and operations
- Manage the coordination of customers’ needs, billing, collections, and other activities
- Establish and maintain relationships with key decision makers within customers’ organizations
- Track and maintain operational activity metrics and ensure that weekly/monthly quotas are met
- Understand the evolving and competitive landscape of the 3PL/Brokerage business and align resources to develop creative and strategic solutions
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree from a 4 year university or college preferred
- Minimum 5 years of related experience with a heavy concentration on brokerage operations
- Minimum 3 years of successful management experience
- Experience with Transportation Management Systems, market rate tools/software, analysis with large data sets
- PC literate with experience with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Access and Excel
- Excellent written and oral communication skills that demonstrate a proven ability to develop relationships with a range of internal and external customers
- Excellent planning and organizational skills
- Excellent personnel development skills
- Strong problem solving skills
- Ability to work in fast paced environment
- Knowledge of domestic transportation and documentation for all utilized modes of transport
- Knowledge of regulatory compliance associated with US truck freight brokerage
