Transportation Associate
About the role
Transportation Associates will perform trailer moves in the trailer yard, coordinate yard activities, conduct yard audits, complete applicable driver training programs, and operate multiple vehicle types based on business need.
Responsibilities
- Adhere to company rules and regulations to ensure safety.
- Support site operations teams, internal transportation field teams, and external carriers.
- Operate CMVs on non-public roads or in yards to move trailers.
- Complete driver vehicle inspection reports and report maintenance or delivery issues.
- Follow hostler and delivery schedules, track and report working hours and breaks.
- Support the business on an as needed basis by serving as a peer trainer and/or working at nearby sites.
- Drive, maneuver, and load/unload trucks using approved equipment.
Requirements
- Valid and active driver’s license.
- High School or equivalent diploma.
- At least 21 years old.
- Ability to lift up to 49 pounds, stand/walk for up to 12 hours, and perform frequent pushing, pulling, squatting, bending, reaching, and ascending/descending stairs.
- Flexible schedule/shifts, including weekends, nights, and holidays.
- Work 40 hours/week, and overtime as required.
- English proficiency required for Department of Labor/Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration roles.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).
- Experience with Microsoft Office products and applications.
- Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills with diverse audiences.
- Able to follow and enforce safety measures and policies to all who operate vehicles on behalf of Amazon and those who enter the yard, including vendors and senior team members.
- Able to build strong, collaborative relationships with colleagues and outside vendors.

Pay
The starting pay for this position is listed below, including the base pay rate plus the highest available shift differential which applies depending on the shift you select. As a total compensation company, additional earnings may include shift differentials and overtime pay. Final pay will be based on factors including shift selection and location.
