Transport Driver

About the role

The Transport Driver at Klosterman Baking Company is responsible for large deliveries, ensuring compliance with all relevant laws, policies, and standards, particularly those related to food safety.

Responsibilities

• Drives trailer promptly with all safety policies in mind.
• Handle product with care while traveling to and from locations.
• Maintain and execute shipping initiatives while abiding by Department of Transportation regulations.
• Completes all required JJ Keller training for transport drivers.
• Picks up and drops off a trailer as directed.
• Ensure delivery of product that is:
  • Maintaining the same quality as it was received.
  • On time
• Initiate a recovery policy for:
  • Customer complaints
  • Vehicle accident
  • Product shortage
• Follows Company-wide initiatives including:
  • Food Safety
  • Employee Safety
  • Food Quality
  • Priority customer service
  • On-time deliveries
• Provides Warehouse Manager with information relating to delays of delivery, issues with the trailer and/or product.
• Maintains driver license, medical certificate, and physical.

Qualifications

• Maintain a valid Class A – CDL license.
• Avoid acquiring more than three moving violations in three years.
• Meet all Department of Transportation guidelines.
• Able to back trailers in and out of docks.
• Honest, respectful of others, and calm and patient in the face of adversity.
• Accurately track and record hours and complete required driving logs.
• Keep a record of fuel and truck repair purchases.
• Have good attendance.
• Be available to work overtime when needed.
