Transport Driver

About the role

We are hiring a Class A Route Driver in Jacksonville, FL. The position is home daily, Monday-Friday with a 5am start time, offering a balanced 40-45 hour work week. It provides an excellent opportunity for those seeking a sustainable work-life balance.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the safe and efficient delivery of compressed gas cylinders to Airgas Branches and Plants using a company provided Tractor Trailer.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
• Load and unload the truck daily with gas cylinders & supplies.
• Nurture courteous & professional relationships with customers.
• Safely secure and unsecure cylinders.
• Complete deliveries on customer property sites using a hand cart.

Requirements

• Valid Class A CDL with HAZMAT (or able to obtain it within 60 days from hire date) & Airbrake endorsements.
• Maintain appropriate driver’s license, medical card & endorsements.
• No more than two (2) traffic convictions: OR two (2) at-fault accident in the last 3 years; or no more than a combination of one (1) traffic conviction and one (1) at-fault accident in the last 3 years.
• No driving while under the influence of alcohol or a controlled substance within the last seven (7) years.
• Able to work in a drug-free environment.
• Able to regularly lift 75lbs and move more than 125lbs with the aid of material handling equipment.
• One year of CDL driving experience in the last 5 years or be able to provide proof of a certificate of completion from trucking school completed in the last 12 months.
