Sentara Medical Group is seeking a skilled and experienced Abdominal Transplant Surgeon to provide PRN shifts at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital. The hospital has a long-standing reputation for kidney and pancreas transplants, performing over 2,000 successful transplants since 1972.

Position Highlights

• Join a team of 2 experienced Abdominal Transplant surgeons to facilitate program growth and development.
• The ideal candidate should have 3-5 years of experience and demonstrate robust capabilities with a commitment to quality and regulatory metrics.
• Opportunities for clinical and translational research and participation in medical student and resident education are expected.

Required Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited American Board of Surgery general surgery residency program and an ASTS-approved fellowship program in solid organ transplantation
• Eligible for or a licensed to practice medicine in Virginia
• Candidates must be actively performing or trained to perform living donor nephrectomies and kidney transplantation in their current position and have a strong interest in living donor kidney transplantation
• Preferred experience/training in Liver transplantation
