Primary Responsibilities
- Managing and leading transmission line projects throughout the entire project life cycle, including scope and/or proposal development, project team development and assignment, project execution, project closeout, quality control, schedule, and budget management.
- Produce and coordinate several small to medium projects concurrently.
- Working independently and/or directing, mentoring, training, and/or supervising one or more Project Engineers, EITs, Designers, CADD Technicians and administrative staff.
- Leading the QA/QC process on projects per HDR’s Quality Management Systems (QMS) requirements with a commitment to delivering world class quality.
- At times, being responsible for overseeing non-engineering components of projects, including public involvement, environmental permitting, right of way acquisition, construction management, and other services.
- Leveraging existing staff across the company to execute work and deliver world class services.
- Performing client management, project management, and/or technical support activities.
- At times, supporting and engaging in broader business development activities with existing and target clients in the region.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification, together with experience using project management tools
- Ability to effectively understand and apply many of the following project management concepts is strongly preferred: project life cycle, contract terms and project risk, work breakdown structures, project scope/schedule/budget, project initiation, project planning, financial management and controls, including earned value, internal/external communication, team management, change management, and project closeout.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering
- 7 years related experience
- A minimum 2 years project management experience
- Requires professional engineering license recognized by the licensing board for the location of the position offered.
