Transmission Project Manager

Electrical Consultants, Inc. (ECI), a leading power engineering consultant firm, is seeking a motivated individual to join our Phoenix, AZ office as a Project Manager.

About the role

The chosen engineer will work within an organized project team, leading multiple engineers and drafters on projects focused on the design of transmission lines and foundations.

Responsibilities

• Provide quality control and quality assurance of engineering and drawing deliverables for transmission lines, including:
  • P&Ps (Plans and Profiles)
  • Foundation calculations and drawings
  • Structure load calculations and drawings
  • Design criteria documents
  • Other supporting documents required for transmission line construction packages
• Make sound engineering decisions and judgments to ensure project progress and success.
• Lead a team of engineers in developing assigned work tasks, including engineering proposals, under the direction of a supervisor.
• Prepare technical documents, project management reports, budget tracking, and schedule development.

Requirements

• An engineering degree is highly recommended but not required.
• 2+ years of experience managing transmission projects in a utility environment, working on voltages of 69kV through 500kV.
• Proven effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work both individually and on a team.
• Detail-oriented with a high level of organizational skills.
• Ability to work with confidential information and exercise independent judgment.
• Must not require sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H-1B visa) now or in the future.
• Occasional travel/driving will be required; subject to ECI's auto insurance carrier requirements.
• May be subject to client-mandated drug and background checks.
