Transmission Project Manager
Electrical Consultants, Inc. (ECI) is a leading power engineering consultant firm that provides engineering, system planning and studies, technical consultation, project management, surveying, environmental planning, commissioning/testing and construction services to electric utilities, energy developers and industrials throughout the U.S. Our experience includes system voltages from 4.16 kV through 765 kV. ECI is opening an office in Nebraska and has an opening for a transmission project manager in Columbus, Omaha, or Lincoln.
About the role
This is a great opportunity to help start and grow a new office location. The role involves the conceptual, preliminary, and final detailed design of new and upgraded transmission lines, including material procurement and construction support through line energization.
Responsibilities
- Scope, budget, schedule, plan, execute, monitor, and report on transmission line projects and proposals.
- Oversee a project team (or teams) of engineers, designers, drafters, and support staff.
- Diligently execute ECI's quality control procedure to ensure best-in-class project execution and delivery.
- Coordinate with ECI's subject matter expert discipline groups such as Substation Engineering, Distribution Studies, Transmission Studies, Grounding Studies, Civil Engineering, Environmental Planning, Surveying, Lands/Right-of-Way, and Project Management/Controls.
- Serve as ECI's primary interface with clients and other project stakeholders.
- Provide technical mentorship and training of project team design staff.
- Resolve conflicting priorities and schedules.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science or Master's degree in Civil Engineering, 10+ years' project engineering experience, or an acceptable combination of education and experience.
- 2+ years of demonstrated project management and leadership experience.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organization and planning skills.
- Commitment to quality and accuracy.
- Willingness and ability to meet fast-paced project schedules.
- Advanced knowledge of transmission engineering principles, applicable codes, standards, and design tools.
- Ability to direct and oversee multiple technical disciplines in the completion of transmission line projects.
- Must not require sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H-1B visa status) now or in the future.
- Occasional travel/driving required; must meet ECI's auto insurance carrier requirements.
- May be subject to client-mandated drug and background checking.
Preferred qualifications: PE license and PMP certification.
