Transmission Project Manager

About the role

Electrical Consultants, Inc. (ECI) is a leading power engineering consultant firm providing engineering, system planning and studies, technical consultation, project management, surveying, environmental planning, commissioning/testing, and construction services to electric utilities, energy developers, and industrials throughout the U.S. Our experience includes system voltages from 4.16 kV through 765 kV.

Responsibilities

• Conceptual, preliminary, and final detailed design of new and upgraded transmission lines, including material procurement and construction support through line energization.
• Scoping, budgeting, scheduling, planning, executing, monitoring, and reporting of transmission line projects and proposals.
• Overseeing a project team (or teams) of engineers, designers, drafters, and support staff.
• Executing ECI's quality control procedure to ensure best-in-class project execution and delivery.
• Interacting with and coordinating ECI's subject matter expert discipline groups such as Substation Engineering, Distribution Studies, Transmission Studies, Grounding Studies, Civil Engineering, Environmental Planning, Surveying, Lands/Right-of-Way, and Project Management/Controls.
• Serving as ECI's primary interface with clients and other project stakeholders.
• Providing technical mentorship and training of project team design staff.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science or Master's degree in Civil Engineering, 10+ years' project engineering experience, or an acceptable combination of education and experience.
• 2+ years of demonstrated project management and leadership experience.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong organization and planning skills.
• Commitment to quality and accuracy.
• Willingness and ability to meet fast-paced project schedules.
• Advanced knowledge of transmission engineering principles, applicable codes, standards, and design tools.
• Ability to direct and oversee multiple technical disciplines in the completion of transmission line projects.
• Ability to resolve conflicting priorities and schedules.
• Must not require sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H-1B visa status) now or in the future.

Preferred qualifications include a PE license and PMP certification. The successful applicant may be subject to client-mandated drug and background checking. Occasional travel/driving is required; therefore, the successful applicant will be subject to ECI's auto insurance carrier requirements.
