About the role
Electrical Consultants, Inc. (ECI) is a leading power engineering consultant firm providing engineering, system planning and studies, technical consultation, project management, surveying, environmental planning, commissioning/testing, and construction services to electric utilities, energy developers, and industrials throughout the U.S. This role is for a Transmission Project Manager to help start and grow a new Nebraska office in Columbus, Omaha, or Lincoln.
Responsibilities
- Conceptual, preliminary, and final detailed design of new and upgraded transmission lines, including material procurement and construction support through line energization.
- Scoping, budgeting, scheduling, planning, executing, monitoring, and reporting of transmission line projects and proposals.
- Overseeing a project team (or teams) of engineers, designers, drafters, and support staff.
- Executing ECI's quality control procedure to ensure best-in-class project execution and delivery.
- Coordinating with ECI's subject matter expert discipline groups (Substation Engineering, Distribution Studies, Transmission Studies, Grounding Studies, Civil Engineering, Environmental Planning, Surveying, Lands/Right-of-Way, and Project Management/Controls).
- Serving as ECI's primary interface with clients and other project stakeholders.
- Providing technical mentorship and training of project team design staff.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science or Master's degree in Civil Engineering, or an acceptable combination of education and experience.
- 10+ years' project engineering experience.
- 2+ years of demonstrated project management and leadership experience.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organization and planning skills.
- Commitment to quality and accuracy.
- Willingness and ability to meet fast-paced project schedules.
- Advanced knowledge of transmission engineering principles, applicable codes, standards, and design tools.
- Ability to direct and oversee multiple technical disciplines in the completion of transmission line projects.
- Ability to resolve conflicting priorities and schedules.
- Must not require sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H-1B visa status) now or in the future.
Preferred qualifications: PE license and PMP certification. Occasional travel/driving is required; applicants must meet ECI's auto insurance carrier requirements. May be subject to client-mandated drug and background checking.
