About the role

The Transmission Planning Team at ISO New England is responsible for studying the future of the New England transmission system out to 2050. They focus on the integration of clean energy resources and the impacts of increased power consumption from electrification.

Responsibilities

  • Perform transmission planning studies
  • Simulate electric transmission system behavior
  • Analyze results and develop recommendations
  • Provide technical and procedural leadership, coordination, and facilitation within ISO-NE and among stakeholders

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
  • The ability to complete studies to assess system reliability and determine transmission system solutions
  • Experience in electric system operations and/or transmission planning
  • A power systems concentration in Electrical Engineering preferred
  • A Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field desirable
  • Professional Engineering License desirable

Qualifications

  • Proficiency in applying planning criteria and conducting computer simulations of transmission system performance
  • Ability to communicate at a high level of proficiency in both oral and written form
  • Desirable qualities include experience in electric system operations and/or transmission planning, a power systems concentration in Electrical Engineering, and a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field

Pay

The expected salary range for this position is $96,000 - $136,000 per year. This role is also eligible for an annual performance bonus.

Schedule

This position requires up to 5% travel with some overnight stays.
