Transmission Maintenance Lineman (Hotstick Deer Valley) LOMA

About the role

We will rely on your exceptional work ethic to be responsible for working on new construction projects and maintaining existing overhead facilities. Work performed may involve voltages from 69KV to 500KV. Alternative days and hours may be required (Tuesday - Saturday) per LOMA (3/12/2008). The established headquarters for this position is subject to relocation to the Hub West Service Center, 38 miles west of downtown Phoenix, on a date to be determined by the Company. This role is onsite, requiring work in the field and/or at an APS facility, and employees are expected to reside in Arizona.

Responsibilities

• Work on all types of distribution lines including 4kv to 21kv and all related equipment.
• Operate aerial equipment with weight restrictions of 300 pounds or less.
• Respond to out-of-town assignments and emergent calls.
• Support External Human Cargo (EHC) Operations.
• Perform necessary overtime work as required.

Requirements

• High School diploma or G.E.D.
• Completed a Registered Journeyman Lineman Apprenticeship Program or an equivalent training program (as approved by APS T&D Technical & Safety Training) plus one year of experience as a Journeyman Lineman.
• Valid Commercial Driver's License (Class "A") with ability to meet all DOT requirements.
• Must live within one (1) hour of headquarters.
• Must pass written and hands-on exam and successfully demonstrate climbing skills.

Qualifications

For applicants electing to qualify based on the completion of a registered apprenticeship program:

• Provide your apprentice number and copy of your Registered Journeyman Lineman Apprenticeship Program Completion Certificate.

For applicants electing to qualify based on experience or equivalent training program:

• Provide an official letter from HR Management or a member of the company’s operations leadership stating: your job title, roles and responsibilities, and length of time in that position.

All applicants must submit:

• Copy of your Class A CDL license (or permit) (front and back, in color).

Registered Apprenticeship Program Criteria:

• Program must have a documented process for hours worked in the field in the work processes associated with the craft (e.g., distribution, transmission, maintenance). Registered apprenticeship programs require 7,000 – 10,000 hours (3-5 years).
• Program must have documented proof of completion of related education classroom courses. Registered apprenticeship programs require a minimum of 144 hours per year of related education courses during the apprenticeship.
• Journeyman-level experience must be documented in writing if a certificate of completion of Registered Apprenticeship is unavailable. This requires a letter on company letterhead documenting your title, details of roles and responsibilities, and length of time in that position, signed by an operations or HR manager.
